Christmas Eve Worship
December 24 @ 9:45am, 2:00pm, & 10:00pm Lessons & Carols.
The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a long-standing tradition of telling the story of God’s Word coming into the world through scripture and song. The story begins with Genesis and culminates with the Word made flesh in John. Interspersed throughout the hearing of lessons are traditional carols and hymns. (There is also a candle lighting ceremony included at the 10:00pm service.)
December 24 @ 3:00, 4:00, & 5:00pm. A Holy Night with a Holy Family.
Taste, touch, and see the birth of “Emmanuel, God with Us.” There is a short message, special music, carol singing, candle lighting, Communion and the Holy Family arriving at the manger.
Sundays in Advent
December 1, 8, 15 & 22
Join us for our new Sunday Worship Times at 8:30 & 9:45am when we will celebrate the coming of the Christ child with Holden Prayer, Advent candle lighting and a special children’s message.
Wednesdays in Advent
December 4 @ 6:30pm Mary Remembers: A Traditional Christmas Pageant.
In this telling of the Christmas story, we wear costumes and sing traditional carols in order to participate in sharing the story of how Jesus was born. Mary, the mother of Jesus, has memories that “she treasured in her heart” (Luke 2:51). In this drama we meet both the young Mary and an older Mary, who remembers and tells the story while we gather to listen to and reenact Christ’s birth. The congregation will sing a lot of carols to get our Advent started.
December 11 @ 6:30pm We three Spies: A Christmas Musical Comedy.
An exciting Christmas mission of undercover espionage. Secret agents in the CIK (Christmas Intelligence Kids) are tapped to keep a Scrooge-like landlord, Ms. Harriet King from evicting a community outreach organization that brings Christmas cheer to those in need. Will the CIK save Christmas? Will Ms. King learn the true meaning of Christmas and change her ways? Will there be a Christmas Nativity program at the end of the show? Will there be people of all ages singing, dancing and laughing throughout? Will we learn more about God’s amazing love for us? Join us to find out.
December 18 @ 6:30pm The Glory of Christmas: The Shepherd Singers Choir Cantata.
Sing along with the Shepherds Singers Choir as we take a musical journey through the Advent and Christmas seasons with the beautiful Christmas Cantata “The Glory of Christmas” by Lloyd Larson. This cantata is a reminder that in the darkest moments of life, the brilliance of the eternal light of Christ shines into our world to guide us on the journey of life and faith.
